The motor of the electric tray flipping machine is the power core of the equipment, and its maintenance quality directly determines the stability and service life of the equipment operation. Motor maintenance should revolve around the four core objectives of "preventing wear and tear, avoiding overheating, preventing corrosion, and promptly identifying hidden dangers". Systematic maintenance should be carried out according to a fixed cycle, which can be divided into three types of operations: daily inspection, regular deep maintenance, and special environmental reinforcement measures. The following is a detailed process and key points:

routine inspection
The daily inspection aims to quickly identify obvious problems and avoid motor operation with faults. The core inspection items are as follows:
Appearance and connection status
Observe whether the motor casing is damaged or deformed. If the casing is damaged, it may cause dust/moisture to seep into the interior, and it needs to be repaired or replaced in a timely manner;
Check if the connecting bolts between the motor, reducer, and flipping mechanism are loose. Loose bolts can cause an increase in transmission clearance, vibration, and abnormal noise. Use a wrench to tighten them to the rated torque.
Electrical connection safety
Check whether there are oxidation or burn marks on the wiring terminals of the motor power line and control line. Oxidation can increase contact resistance and cause local overheating; If there is oxidation, use sandpaper to polish the terminals until the metallic luster is exposed, and then re tighten them;
Confirm whether the motor grounding is reliable. Poor grounding may lead to leakage risk. Use a multimeter "resistance mode" to measure the conductivity between the grounding terminal and the equipment casing. If the resistance is greater than 10 Ω, the grounding wire needs to be reprocessed.
Running status monitoring
Listen to the sound: Normal motor operation should have a "uniform buzzing sound". If there is a "sharp abnormal sound", "friction sound", or "intermittent jamming sound", the machine should be stopped immediately for inspection;
Temperature measurement: Use an infrared thermometer to measure the temperature of the motor casing. The casing temperature of a regular asynchronous motor should be ≤ 60 ℃. If it exceeds 70 ℃, the machine should be stopped for troubleshooting;
Check for vibration: Touch the motor housing with your hand to feel if the vibration amplitude is abnormal. If the vibration is severe, it may be due to bearing wear, rotor imbalance, or loose connecting bolts, and further inspection is needed.
Regular deep maintenance
Deep maintenance is aimed at the "hidden loss components" of the motor, which require dismantling some structures to completely eliminate hidden dangers. The core steps are as follows:
1. Bearing maintenance
Bearings are the core components of motor rotation, and lubrication failure or wear is the main cause of failure. Operation points:
Preparation before disassembly: Disconnect the motor power supply, remove the connection between the motor and the equipment, and mark the alignment of the front and rear end covers of the motor;
Bearing inspection: Open the front and rear end covers of the motor, remove the bearings, and observe whether there is "pitting", "cracking", or "rusting" on the inner and outer rings and balls of the bearings. When rotating the bearings, there should be no jamming or abnormal noise. If any of the above problems are found, the bearings of the same model should be replaced directly;
Lubrication and filling: If the bearing is in good condition, the old lubricating grease should be cleaned first. After drying, "motor specific lubricating grease" should be added to the inside of the bearing, with a filling amount of 1/2-2/3 of the internal space of the bearing. Finally, the end cap should be reinstalled in place and tightened.
2. Winding insulation testing
The aging of the insulation layer of the motor winding can cause "ground short circuit" and "phase to phase short circuit". It is necessary to use a megohmmeter to detect the insulation resistance. The operation steps are as follows:
Disconnect the power cord inside the motor junction box to ensure that the winding is disconnected from the external circuit;
The "L" terminal of the megohmmeter is connected to the motor winding, and the "E" terminal is connected to the motor housing. Shake the megohmmeter at a speed of 120r/min to read the insulation resistance value:
The insulation resistance of a regular 380V motor should be ≥ 0.5M Ω;
If the insulation resistance is less than 0.3M Ω, it indicates that the insulation layer of the winding is damp or aging, and needs to be dried. After drying, it should be remeasured. If it still does not meet the standard, the winding needs to be replaced.
3. Cleaning of the cooling system
Poor heat dissipation of the motor will accelerate the aging of the winding, and it is necessary to focus on cleaning the heat dissipation components:
Remove the cooling fan cover from the motor casing and use compressed air to blow away dust and oil stains from the fan blades;
Clean the gap between the heat dissipation fins of the motor housing. If the heat dissipation fins are deformed, gently straighten them to ensure smooth ventilation;
Check if the cooling fan is loose or damaged. If the fan blades are broken, it will cause insufficient air flow, and a fan of the same specification needs to be replaced.
Enhanced maintenance in special environments
If the motor is used in a humid, high dust, and corrosive environment, the following measures should be added on top of routine maintenance:
High humidity/high water environment
Check the sealing strip of the motor junction box every month and apply waterproof sealant on the fitting surface between the junction box cover and the outer shell;
Every 2 months, use a megohmmeter to check the insulation resistance of the winding. If the ambient humidity is greater than 75%, a "dehumidifying silicone bag" can be installed inside the motor.
High dust environment
Install a "dust filter" on the motor cooling fan cover, and remove and clean it once a week;
During deep maintenance, it is necessary to flush the interior of the bearing with kerosene and use "anti-wear lubricating grease".
Corrosive environment
Wipe the motor casing with neutral cleaning agent every 2 months to remove surface corrosive media, dry and spray with "anti-corrosion protection agent";
Apply "anti oxidation conductive paste" at the wiring terminals to prevent corrosion and oxidation of the terminals, ensuring reliable electrical connections.
Maintenance taboos and precautions
Avoid blind operation: It is strictly prohibited to open the junction box or disassemble the motor before the power is turned off to prevent electric shock; When disassembling bearings, it is forbidden to use a hammer for hard tapping. Special pulling tools should be used to avoid damaging the bearing seat and journal;
Oil selection matching: Bearings of different models of motors require corresponding lubricating grease, and different types of grease cannot be mixed;
Recording and tracing: Establish a motor maintenance ledger to record the date, inspection items, replacement parts, and testing data of each maintenance, in order to facilitate the subsequent tracing of the cause of the fault;
Timely replacement of aging components: If the motor experiences problems such as "burnt windings," "stuck bearings," or "severe corrosion of the casing," the repair cost is high. It is recommended to directly replace the motor with the same specifications.
By strictly following the above maintenance process, the probability of motor failure can be effectively reduced, the service life of the motor can be extended to 8-10 years, and the overall operational stability of the electric tray flipping machine can be guaranteed.
